SAN FRANCISCO, Jun 25, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) – Embarcadero Technologies, a leading provider of software solutions for application and database development, announced today that ERPLY, a leading provider of cloud-based POS software, used Embarcadero Delphi XE2 with FireMonkey to develop its Windows Point of Sale software and pave the way for a Mac OS X version.

“In retail, more and more shops want to use Mac hardware,” says Kristjan Hiiemaa, founder and CEO of ERPLY. “As Windows developers, we were concerned about the time we had to spend learning a new language and platform to create Mac applications. FireMonkey gives us the ability to deploy a Windows application to Mac OS X using the same code base which saves us a tremendous amount of time.”

FireMonkey developers can create rich HD and 3D applications that communicate business ideas with higher visual fidelity and deeper user involvement. “We used FireMonkey to design a modern rich user interface on Windows, giving our application a cutting-edge look and feel. What’s great is that we can deploy our application to Mac OS X which allows us to compete better in the market,” says Kristjan Hiiemaa.

ERPLY recently announced a strategic integration with PayPal providing businesses with a new way to accept mobile payments and manage their business operations. ERPLY’s largest deployment has 500 locations and the Windows POS application is now being launched across the retail chain of Elizabeth Arden Corp.
